This is best eaten with an evening coffee. Very easy to make and delicious snack.
Ingredients:
Rice flour - 1 bowl
Urad dal - 1/2 bowl
Oil for frying
Garlic - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds -1 tsp
Asafoetida (Hing) -1 pinch
Dessicated coconut - 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander - 2 tsp
Chopped Onion (optional) - 1
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat oil in a pan for frying.
Take a large bowl and add Rice flour to it. Grind the Urad dal to a fine powder. Add this to the rice floor.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and mix well. Add little water and mix well to form a dough.
Take little quantity of dough on plastic sheets coated with oil and press the dough to form a flat shape (similar to nippattu).
Fry them on medium flame in the oil till they turn golden brown. Serve with Coffee or Tea.
Note: 1. You can also add chopped onions to it.
2. You can store them for around a month in air tight containers. I bet they wont last for even a week :)
