Brussel Sprouts Sabzi

Brussel Sprouts is not a very common vegetable found in India. I was lucky to find it in the Namdhari's. I had earlier tasted it in UK and liked it very much. So as soon as I found it I was so happy to cook and serve it to my family members.

Brussel Sprouts is similar to cabbage but has a different taste. It is very rich in dietary fibre. So, enjoy this simple easy to make recipe.

Ingredients:

Brussel Sprouts - 10 to 12
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Channa Dal - 1tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Chopped Coriander - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

Finely chop the brussel sprouts. Heat oil in a pan and when it is hot add mustard seeds.

When the mustard seeds begin to splutter, add channa and urad dal. Also add turmeric.

Add the chopped brussel sprouts to it. Sprinkle little water and mix well. Cover the pan and cook on medium flame till the sprouts are done. They take around 10 mins to cook completely.

Now add salt, chilli powder, coriander and cumin powder and garnish it with coriander.

Note: This tastes very good with chapathis and also rice.
