Very famous variety of dosa popular in restaurants. It's generally served with sagu and chutney.
Ingredients:
Rice - 2 cups
Urad dal - 1 cup
Poha /Avalakki - 1/4 cup
Curd - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking soda - 1/4 tsp
Oil for Dosa
Method:
Soak rice and urad dal in 4 cups of water. Wash the poha and soak it in curd for around 4 to 5 hrs.
Grind rice, urad dal, poha together with water. Let it form a semi thick batter.
Now add sugar, salt, soda and mix well. Allow it to ferment for a minimum of 8 hrs.
Once fermented, adjust the consistency with little water. The batter should not slide on the tava.
Now heat the tava and pour the batter. Close the lid and cook for 2 mins.
Flip the dosa and remove it from pan after 10 to 15 secs.
Serve hot with chutney or sagu or both 🙂
